DuitGain App Privacy Policy
The short version
- You do not need an account. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, IC number or bank details.
- Your spending amounts, saved cards and settings are stored on your phone.
- When you calculate, the app sends your spending amounts and filters to our server to work out the results. We use them only to answer that request and do not keep them.
- No advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell or share your information.
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the DuitGain mobile application (the "App") handles information. The App is operated by DuitGain ("DuitGain", "we", "us" or "our"), an independent credit card comparison service based in Malaysia. The App provides free calculators and information to help you compare Malaysian credit cards.
We are committed to handling information in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of Malaysia (PDPA) and the Google Play Developer Program Policies. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information we do not collect
The App is designed to work without knowing who you are. We do not:
- require you to register, sign in or create an account;
- ask for your name, email address, phone number, identity card number, address, income documents, or any bank or card account numbers;
- access your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, SMS or other files on your device;
- use advertising identifiers, advertising networks, analytics tools or tracking technologies;
- create a profile about you.
3. Information stored only on your device
To make the App convenient, some information is saved locally on your phone using the App's private storage. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.

You can remove this information at any time by using "Clear all spending", removing cards from My cards, clearing the App's data in your phone's settings, or uninstalling the App.
4. Information sent to our server when you use a feature
All calculations are performed on our server at duitgain.com so that results always use the latest card information. When you use a feature, the App sends only what is needed for that feature:

This information is not linked to your identity. We use it only to produce the result you asked for and we do not store your spending amounts or your saved card list on our server.
Technical information
Like any website or online service, our server and hosting provider automatically receive standard technical information with each request. This includes your device's IP address, the date and time, the address requested and basic device/browser type. This information is used only to deliver the service, keep it secure and prevent abuse, and is kept in routine server logs for a limited period before being deleted. To protect the service from automated misuse, we also keep a short-lived counter of requests made from each network address, stored in a one-way scrambled (hashed) form that expires automatically within about one minute.
5. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- calculate and display card comparisons and card details you request;
- remember your preferences on your device;
- keep the App and our server secure, reliable and protected against abuse.
We do not use your information for advertising or marketing, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not share it with banks, card issuers or advertisers. Information is handled by others only in these limited cases:
- Hosting and delivery: our website and server are hosted by a third-party hosting provider, which also delivers content through its content delivery network. It processes requests on our behalf and is not permitted to use them for its own purposes.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, court order or a lawful request by a public authority.
7. Links to other websites
The App contains links to bank websites (for example, official card pages and terms and conditions) and to duitgain.com. These open in your web browser. Once you leave the App, the privacy policy of that website applies. DuitGain is not affiliated with any bank and is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites.
8. Data security
All communication between the App and our server is encrypted using HTTPS. Because we do not collect personal information or user accounts, there is no personal account data that could be exposed. While we take reasonable measures to protect the service, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Data retention
- On your device: kept until you clear it, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.
- Spending amounts and filters sent for a calculation: used to answer the request and then discarded. Not stored.
- Technical server logs: kept for a limited period for security and operations, then deleted.
10. Children
The App provides information about credit cards and is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Your choices and rights
You are in control of the information the App uses. You can edit or clear your spending amounts and saved cards at any time, or delete everything by clearing the App's data or uninstalling it. Since we do not hold personal information that identifies you, we will generally have no personal data about you to access, correct or delete. If you have any question or request regarding your personal data under the PDPA, please contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
12. Important note about our information
Results in the App are estimates based on card information published by banks and may not reflect every term, condition or promotion. Please always confirm details with the bank before applying for or using a card. The App does not provide financial advice.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes, for example if we add new features such as notifications. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change significantly affects how information is handled, we will also let you know within the App before the change takes effect.
